Darksiders: Main Menu

Theme by 2ply

Backgrounds: 1HD/1SD
Icons: Custom main icons, black/great secondary.

Getting the background to resemble the main menu of the game was harder than I expected, had to combine parts of 3 different pics and heavily adjust brightness/contrast and resize those parts.

I orignally had all the menu options there besides just Continue, but felt it was too cluttered looking.

The main icon borders were ripped directly from the game aswell.

Idk it’s just a single program called p3tcompiler haha, I drag a file onto it and out pops a working p3t file.

Can’t even seem to find it on the net anymore either, or the default icons that came with it.. need them again since I copied over them with this theme by mistake.

So it looks like i’ll need to explore a newer option of creating them reguardless lol.

I’m on win7 x64, will the program you mentioned still work?

Uhm… Which program are you using?
Maybe “PS3 Theme Creator”, or “PS3 Custom Theme”, or something like that…?
Well, you should try using PS3 Theme Builder 3.0 (provided you have WindowsXP on your computer) 😉

Thanks man 🙂 I guess it didn’t make the cut in time, would have been neat to see 4 Darksiders in a row hehe.

As for 3 cloned pics, strange I know.

The method I learned to make themes is probably as old as my version of PS lol.

I only wanted the single background, but the compiler used has 3 backgrounds preset into the coding or whatever, and if any of those other files (b_HD/SD,c_HD/SD) were missing it wouldn’t create the .p3t at all.

Oh, here is the third theme you were talking about…

Original intent was to try a dynamic theme, but for whatever reason I couldn’t get my version of photoshop to open the files needed, it’s probably too old I guess lol (it’s 6.0 I think.. nearly a decade old).

Well, it doesn’t matter, bro, you did a good job! Nice theme! 😀
Only thing I don’t understand is: why did you put 3 identical backgrounds? O_O
