  2. Oh yeah, if the game will prove to be funny as it seems… who cares about the story!
    I think that have an island of 1000Km fully explorable and destructible, is a good incentive to have fun even without a story: in Italy, a game like this is jokingly called “ignorant”… 😀

    Maybe at the end of this month?
    I’m reading various reviews and I see that it’s having good ratings: it seems the missions don’t shine for originality, but what makes the difference is the way they can be carried out.
    Technically it seems well made and it seems the graphic engine doesn’t have problems to handle the immense island environments. They say there are so many things to do that the game should last about 30 hours.
    The only thing that doesn’t convince me is the fact that the controls seem a little complicated: this could ruin the gameplay and then the fun…

Well, I don’t doubt it’s a great game (Santa Monica Studio is a guarantee) and I’m not making a direct comparison between GoW3 and JC2 (since they are two completely different genres) but playing it I’m realizing that after all it has almost nothing innovative, because of that sense of dejavu that I mentioned: honestly, eliminating the clashes (although epic) with Titans that make the game more lively and the dynamic shots created on purpose to ensure the player understands how “titanic” is the adventure that Kratos is undertaking, basically nothing has changed and it seems to me to play an old GoW for PS2… everything already seen, everything already done.
    I don’t deny that I’m playing it with pleasure, but usually I look beyond the “grandiose” name of a game (that’s why, for example, I liked The Saboteur ten times more than GTA4…) and I think the hype that accompanied GoW3 was exaggerated…
    However, I only expressed my opinion: if I wanted to insult this game, first of all I would not have bought it and then I could simply say that it’s a crap.
    I really liked this saga, but I think that a great name is not sufficient to make always great a game and frankly this GoW is not what I expected (as it was for Need for Speed, Resident Evil 5, Tekken 6 and many others): that’s why I often regret the old PS1 games…
    Maybe I’m too realistic, or maybe I’m just crazy… 😛

  19. Great game! The latest effort of Pandemic.
    It’s basically a clone of GTA, but only for what concerns the gameplay: all the rest is a fantastic adventure set in France during the Nazi occupation. You are an Irish race car pilot, who finds himself involved in historical events that marked the French resistance against the German invasion: in the beginning he’s reluctant, but then he decides to join the resistance becoming a saboteur.
    The story is really good and the game is able to convey accurately the sense of oppression and the atmosphere of that period. There are a lot of primary and secondary missions; you can climb on buildings (even on the Eiffel tower) and use the hiding places like Assassin’s Creed; there are lots of things to do and lots of weapons to use (you can even shoot down the zeppelins flying over the city); lots of civilian, military and race vehicles to use and recover…
    What else? It’s a really good and complete game. What can I say? This game is exciting me more of the various GTA!

  21. Well, I really liked the first Just Cause and, from what I saw, the second seems improved in every aspect. Certainly I’ll buy it, but… funny thing is that I bought so many games that now I’m playing at the same time Heavy Rain (finished 2 times), Dante’s Inferno, The Saboteur, Dark Void and God of War 3: if I also buy Just Cause 2, I’m sure I’ll start to live in the FIFTH DIMENSION… 😀
    However, GoW3 is a really good game, although as I said before, the déjavu feeling is quite strong; instead, Just Cause is only at the second “episode”, this means that it will improve all the good things that already had, plus a lot of new features.
    At this point, I might advice you to buy both games but if you must choose, if I were you I think I would opt for JC2…

  23. AAARRRGHHH!!! I give up too…

    Well, the game is incredible, very detailed and… MOOOORE BLOODY! I was right: when you’re finishing a boss, you can see the massacre from his eyes… O_o
    Unbelievable but true, it doesn’t need installation. It’s truly epic, but it gave me a strange feeling of déjavu and Ihave to say that sometimes the commands response is a bit slow: I’m already dead 4 times falling into ravines 😛 because when you double jump, you have to press the X button twice, but often the second tap on the button is not detected…
    However, it’s a great game!

  35. i completely agree with you Optimus, i like Aniom, but it just gets… old if you can call it that, of course the new “ruined” one is cool and all that, but this theme deserves more cred, at least i think so 🙂

  37. i know exactly what you mean. i decided to keep the full colour and vibrance of backgrounds, also i wanted to cover over the icons as little as possible. at least it’s not as bad as pure whith backgrounds, i never made that mistake 🙂

  38. Very slick work on the icons! you can see that you put a lot of time in the design of every single icon.

    Only minor is the the text in (all of those) themes are difficult to read. not, that I don’t know by now what it says 🙂 and yes you can adjust the background brightness but that doesn’t do good for the wallpapers.

    The hardest thing of a custom theme is the readabilty of the text. That’s why I often use
    the what to be called ‘old skool bars’ to make it more pleasant for the eye.

    About Aniom… well, I admit it’s well made (classic example of winning simplicity) but I must say that I’m also really tired of seeing it always there at the top: honestly, it begins to be “old-fashioned” and, from my point of view, it can no longer compete with some of the latest creations, especially with this your last theme…
    We could consider the fact that they are two different genres and can not be compared… but the comparison can be done though, because (like every other theme) even this two have something in common: technique and visual quality. And I can safely say that by now Aniom loses on both fronts…
    So, for me the vote remains absolutely 5. GREAT WORK!

  41. it’s just a hobby really. I make them for myself, first and foremost. i don’t make themes i don’t want to make. you guys liking them just happens to be a major bonus!

    i find your themes to be way superior than any premium themes on psn.
    looking forward to the alternate gow3 theme.

  43. and optimus, i havn’t exercised my right to vote on the 3 themes ahead of this at the moment, but that would be mean 🙂 although I do actually like the Aniom theme, it’s very well made.

  44. the chains idea just didn’t seem to work out, nothing I tried could beat what I had there, and besides, the wallpapers that I did put in were very large in megabytes, i know they must be compressed to a single megabyte, but the SD ones were large too, so I would only have been able to put in…2 maybe, which would be very imbalanced. I could easily upload an alternate version woth homerow icons that would look better impaled by the blades of athena. in fact i did have an idea before which was no good because of those homerow icons, but I wont tell you what it is because i’m very tempted to do it 🙂 and thanks for the feedback! makes it all worthwhile….. so now i have a battle royale theme to renovate, an aliens theme to get back to work on (i havn’t forgotten lenno), i’m also gonna update and upload my cyanide & happiness theme which i made a loong time ago……..by then i will either be getting shitfaced in bulgaria or shitfaced in OXEGEN, which has flight of the conchords added to an already great line-up!
