    Well, actually the game itself is not so bad, but there are several things that seem to have been conceived and developed in a bad way.
    For example: the gameplay is the classic one of every FPS game (shoot first and think later :P) but it seems they tried introducing the possibility to use a cover system (like Deus Ex Human Revolution)… absolutely useless, because there’s no command to do that (you can just crouch behind structures) while enemies are perfectly able to take advantage of anything and they can even shoot blindly from behind a wall, or a box, or anything else.
    Another example is that looks like you can sneak through levels in order to silently kill enemies (and there are even specific weapons to do that) but there’s no way because as soon as you kill one, all the others always know where you are (although they usually say “I don’t see him anymore!”) no matter where you go to hide…
    Also: graphically the game looks quite impressive, but the new “Mega Textures technique” they used to coat the polygons causes big problems to the graphic engine, which is not able to load textures quickly, so every time you move forward, or you simply look around by turning the view, you see the textures appearing step by step (this way, the result’s very crappy)…
    And like I said, it lacks a real story: there’s just an intro which makes you understand the world has been devastated by the impact of an asteroid, and you are [warning! avoid story (?!?) spoiling! :P], but that’s only a pretext used to start a mere sequence of quests and/or sub-quests until the end of the game… no cutscenes between the missions, absolutely nothing.
    Honestly, I didn’t expect this from Carmack: there’s not a real knowledge of the events happening around you during the adventure (like Fallout, for example) because you’re only “thrown in jeopardy” in order to accomplish missions in which you have to help someone to do something, or retrieve some object, or stuff like that… that’s why the game doesn’t excited me much and I think if they’d cared more these aspects, Rage would have been a real masterpiece… 🙁

    As for F-Rott, Yogosan and Penning… well, I think we just have to wait 😉

  7. I see… Oh man, I really hope you’ll sort everything out, mate!
    (By the way, I managed to buy Rage and… well, I have to say it’s not the great game that everyone expected. Just my opinion, of course, but it doesn’t impressed me much and looks like there’s not even a plot: just a sequence of missions and sub-quests without a REAL story that links them all… so, I think you’ve missed nothing ;)…)

    Uhm… well, last time I heard Yogosan, he said he’s watching the rugby world cup, for now.
    F-Rott said he’s working on that Zelda theme, and Penning… uh, I don’t really know where he is O_o

  8. ill hafto get back to you on that.. i just got home from my buddies house, i was house sitting… i took the drive off the bord to reduce internal heat from redundant actions with the drive, like i would turn my system on and watch the drive TRY to read the disk.. pointless, frustrating, disconnected it.. lol. one of my friends may send me one of his systems in the mail, also a mw3 rental from blockbuster.. but im not sure if i can get into games too mutch before i hafto take care of responsibilitys.. btw, where is F-rott penning & yogosan? those dudes have a coolaid party or something ? lol

    awsome theme man! i tryed to do the system menu stuff, i tryed every option in the menue, luckily i had my system backed up recently or i would have lost everything!! but just the same its still doing the the same damn thing.. im at the end of my rope with it, im 100% positive that the thing just burned out.. or at least a wire, a chip, something went wrong inside it and its stopping its functionality.. its toast .

    So… the Recovery Menu worked, and you tried every option but nothing, huh?
    Uhm, that’s weird: option 3 (Restore File System) should solve the problem… damn!
    But tell me, when you insert the disc:

    1) does the clock (in the upper right info bar) spin, during the disc loading?

    2) is the “blue disk icon” (under game) visible?

    3) which kind of discs your PS3 is no more able to read? Only Blu Ray, or even CDs and DVDs?
