Ok so i've been working hard on creating new codes and i've tested some themes but it's been a headache lately and i keep getting coding errors so i completely gave up since I don't have time to make this happen.. BUT it is possible! which is why i am posting this thread to put the idea out ..

The main idea is to create a new style of dynamic/animated themes by mashing it up with the Pro slideshow technique.. so the theme would be a Pro Slideshow Dynamic..

It would have dynamic backgrounds and would rotate/switch to another dynamic background just like a slideshow.. however instead of pictures changing, it would be dynamic backgrounds changing..

I didn't bother trying multi-dynamic PSS to see if it would work because that got too complicated ... anyway if anyone is interested let me know if you could make this happen and if you do please give me credit Smile

let me know what you guys think of this idea Laugh

I was asking about this a while ago. I thought the trick would be having an anim_1.jpg play one after the other. What I wanted to do was have an anim_1.jpg play one time as an intro then switch to the actual theme anim_1.jpg that would continue to cycle until the next boot. That was all to complicated and time consuming for me though.

yea that's somewhat similar to what I was working on .. but instead of making anim_1.jpg switch i created 2 different RAF files and implemented it into the slideshow theme.. i had to change some of the coding for it to work but i still had errors here and there.. anyway long story short, i gave up because its time consuming and i don't have the time for it.. but it is possible though, i pm'd glowball to see if he could work on it

Jaydee, you think you can send me the script in a PM. I'd like to see what you did because I had no success when I tried.

@ Jaydee1003

In my experice of animated themes man animating an animated object doesn't make sense to a PS3 lol, however I have made it happen but the theme crashes and sometimes the animation just freezes man. You can of course have different animated backgrounds in one raf but the same limitations apply fella.

@uLtRaMa6nEt1c

i would of sent it to u if i had it ... i deleted it :\ but i remember the changes i made so i can rework on it and i'll pm you the codes so you can check it out..

@GlowBall

lol yea i know about creating multiple dynamic themes in one RAF but that is so limited because of the number of frames.. but you've actually tried this before? so there's no way to fix the freezing or crashes you had? lol this would be amazing if it was done.

@ Jaydee1003

My test was kinda simple I got a 3D sphere then edited the raf to play the background animation onto it. I got multiple errors when doing this

1. return to the default xmb (ps3 wave)
2. the animation would lag alot
3. the xmb would crash resulting in a semi bricked console (this was when I stopped testing)

I will do some more testing on this once my tutorial series is noob friendly and my theme list is lower man Smile
