Hi all,
I've made some dynamic slidshow themes (for private use, family pics etc)
How can I make one with video footage? I have some 1 min .avi files etc

You can't do that fella sorry as there are limitations for dynamic themes. I would recommend that you ask Sony if they would ever consider adding this to a future firmware. Just ask for something simple like selecting a video as your background without sound similar to how you select a wallpaper. Themes would die though lol :).

To start with, I was thinking of converting the .avi to images (frame by frame) then making a slideshow out of them, give each frame 0 seconds between... guess that's the only way lol
I hope $ony do something that will allow us to have more control over theme creations, although, it's much better as it is than creating themes for the xbox 360 lol

Yeah you would have to do frame by frame but you can only have about 100 frames. You can always make an MDT version where you have more than 1 raf/anim_1.jpg in 1 theme.
Why you use a $ sign for Sony?
There are alot of people who think Sony are all about money and they are correct but so is microsoft but you wouldn't start putting it like micro$oft or calling Bill Gates dollarBill Gate$ lol

Sony is a very big, cleaver and powerfull company who are roughly about ten years ahead with ideas and inventions. It's the same with the PS3 there firmware 4.0 is probably complete and if us as consumers help with ideas we will get the goodies in return

thanks for your help mate 🙂 I converted a small (approx 50 sec) avi into frames, lost count after about 1700,jpgs lol so, MDT it is 🙂
It's cool about Sony mate 😉 I LOVE THEM! and yes, when I type Micro$oft I always use a $ there aswell lol. I once typed $ega too when people knew of them lol.

A lot of peeps type it $ony simply to avoid the hacking forums showing up on Google searches so easily. A lot of times, if $ONY gets wind of a cool hack, they will block it in their next firmware update.
