i guess i should just put the characters in, let people pick what they like. your the only one around to make these choices, and you have seen the movie as well, so thats a plus!

Well, after seeing the “preview”, I can say the theme is already beautiful as it is, but I must also admit that the idea of leaving only the logo is not bad… Usually, it’s difficult to satisfy everyone, but in this case I think it’s easier than expected: since it’s still work in progress, you could make a double background (one with the logo and one with the character) for each image of the theme. Or you could simply upload a version that has only the logo and one with the characters, so that everyone can choose the theme he… Read more »

yep, i’v seen both, classics. i must, since i’m nearly finished updating my BR theme, the backgrounds with the characters, is there any point leaving them in? i prefer the backround with just the BR logo personally. i definately need a second opinion. i havn’t changed much, mainly just added missing icons and made some new ones instead of the ones i didn’t like…

Yeah, you’re ABSOLUTELY right! Not to mention when very often the dubbing is not well synchronized with the lips of the actors and everything becomes almost comical (but even this has its charm)… 😀 So you have to use subtitles: but, as you said, this is quite sad because in addition to losing important scenes of the film, several times the subtitles are translated/written in a very approximate way and in the end you still have doubts about the story despite you reviewed the film more than once… 🙁 And… what about SONATINE and BROTHER (Kitano’s first film made in… Read more »

that sums it up! worst thing is that the dubbing is so poor that subtitles are the only option. and you miss alot when you are concentrating on the bottom of the screen 🙁 so i usually watch them twice, first to understand the story, and the second time to actually see what’s happening!

Well, yeah quite often Asian movies have exaggerated bloodshed and sometimes seem to see episodes of the anime Hokuto No Ken… 😛 But we have to consider the facets of oriental culture (and the way the Asian have to represent the “reality” with which they have to do) compared to Western culture. These realities (drugs, prostitution, crime etc…) are very similar, but are represented according to the cultural canons of the sites which they belong. the 2003 remake. good character development, interesting story, and didnt have blood spraying all over the place for no reason! i like how asian films have so much overkill, but sometimes its just non stop blood, which gets boring. the torture at the end of audition was way more shocking than anything in ichi. didnt expect it at all! it starts off like a romance! ichi is good but audition is easily my favourite, along with BR of course. but thats just me. and oldboy. how could i forget. most movie twists are very predictable, but i couldn’t believe the… Read more »

Yep! Violent Cop! The original title was “Sono Otoko, Ni Tsuki!” which translated means something like “Beware, this man is very dangerous!” 😀

And AUDITION, directed by Takashi Miike (again) with the beautiful (and psychopathic… :P) Eihi Shiina/Asami Yamazaki, the one who cut tongue, fingers, feet and ears to the victims and then makes them eat her vomit??? No, I don’t know those movies… 😀 😀 😀

hey OPTIMUS, (and anyone else who’s interested) psu.c o m /themes/1942 i forgot i uploaded this here, this the original BR theme, the icons are off-set from the fw update, but it should give you a general idea of the theme. im not gonna change much, I like its simplicity, im gonna re-do the icons, make them more BR looking…..somehow! BR was the 1st japanese movie iv seen, now i watch them all the time. i HIGHLY recommend ‘The Killer’ and ‘Audition’, if you like them just ask me about other good ones. asian action movies are nearly as bad-ass… Read more »

@OPT ya i thought my old logo was boring, i created alot of different ones, but most dont look good when they’re only 64X64 pixels, @droopysp, yogosan it is!
@MainAdversary, my tv is the same, you have 2 go into your tv display settings, and set it to ‘scan’, its currently at 16:9, which doesnt work
