I’m really sorry, Connor, but I cannot fulfill your request…
Well, maybe you don’t know my situation: I’m about to leave the theming scene, because I’m having serious problems… I got the eviction and I’ve been fired, so I’m searching for a new home and a new job, and I’ve no more time to create themes. I’ve already packed up all my things and in these last days I’m just trying to resist as long as I can only to leave some other comment before leaving.
If you search my themes, you’ll find my last one named “Farewell, My Friends” which I made just to say goodbye to everyone… 🙁
Anyway, I’ll try to be back as soon as possible.

As for the sounds…
Well, I usually create them by myself, but it depends on what kind of sounds I need, so…
1) If I make “generic themes”, I use some music program or a simple sounds generator (like SFXR).
2) If I make “specific themes” (like for games), I record the sounds I need directly from the games or whatever is related to the theme I’m creating.
In any case, once you have the sound, you absolutely need to keep in mind 2 things:
1) the lenght of each sound must not exceed 2 seconds (much better if less than 2 seconds)
2) sounds must be converted in VAG format, which is the only one recognized by the PS3 for the themes.
-To reduce the lenght of the sounds, I use AUDACITY: it’s a semiprofessional program (but free) which allows you to edit sounds in any way you want.
-To convert sounds in VAG format, you simply need MFAUDIO: another free program, very simple to use, which automatically converts sounds from WAV to VAG.
Now, with Audacity, once you edited the sound as you please, just save/export it in WAV format. (Well, you only need a little practice to edit the sound correctly, because there are various effects you can use… but it’s not so difficult, after all).
[Also, I suggest you to reduce the sound volume to -9 or -12dB]
Ok, now run MFAUDIO, click OPEN button and choose the sound you want to convert: in the upper section of the window you’ll see the “input audio file characteristics” and in the lower section you’ll see the “output audio file characteristics”.
Now, click on the “File Format” description in the lower section and choose “VAG – Sony PSX Sound – Compressed ADPCM”, click on “Save As” button to give a name to your sound, then click on “Process!” button to convert the file.
(Repeat the procedure for every sound, of course… :P)
Congratulations: you obtained a brand new sound for your theme! 😀

Ok, now… if I understood, you need to know how to install a theme on your PS3, right?
Well, it’s very simple…
1) In a USB key (or a memory stick or whatever you prefer :P) you just need to create a folder named PS3 (all in caps)
2) Inside the PS3 folder, create another one named THEME (again, all in caps)
3) Download your favourite theme into the THEME folder
4) After plugged the USB key/memory stick into your PS3, when you’ll go to the themes option from the XMB, by selecting install (but you already know it, of course… :P), the PS3 will automatically recognize the memory device and you’ll be able to find, install and use your theme.
That’s it! 😀

ok cheers, and how do you actually get the theme off the internet onto your ps3 cause ive tried and all it says is no theme data on memory stick?

Don’t worry, I don’t mind.
Well, it always depends on what kind of theme I want to create.
You know, I always make everything by my hands (like “Anticipated Christmas”, “Old Glories”, “Space Shooter”, “XPS3” or “Bizarre Reflective Metal” themes – just to make an example) because I really like to create always original and funny things (that’s why I work very hard on backgrounds, icons and even sounds)…
However, if I need more specific images to create themes for games (for example “Castlevania LoS” or “Enslaved”, etc) as well as themes requested by someone (like “Scrubs” or “A PS3 for NavySeal74”) well… I don’t have any website: I just search for what I need on google, and then I simply choose the most suitable images for the theme.
would you mind telling me what website for your images you use cause i cant find any on the one i wanna make

Yep, indeed: themes are the last thing in my mind at the moment (and as I said, forgive me if maybe they’re not of good quality)… 🙁
Anyway, since you’ve asked for it, I started to work on Castlevania theme: well, I think it will not be something really special (because I’m not having much time and I’m making quite simple icons) but I’m creating this theme just for you, guys! 😀
Maybe it will be my last one (at least for now, I’m not 100% sure) or maybe not… but when all my problems will end, I’ll come back here for sure (just to bore all of you a little bit more :D)

Well, that’s for sure. Crisis struck almost everywhere, but (you obviously know it better than me) the United States always been a great country able to get back on its feet even in the worst cases. Instead, Italy has always been like a sinking ship for over 50 years: they always “try” to plug the holes, but they’re never able to do something really concrete for the country… our politicians are only good at talking on TV, jabbering about financial maneuvers to revive the country or new votes every year to elect the political party best suited to govern, but the raw truth is that no politician has the balls to fully address the problems. And now we got to the point of no return, and the ship keeps to sink…

Yep, I was already willing to make a theme for Castlevania, but… as I said, I’m still searching suitable images and I don’t really know how to make the icons, yet. 😛
Well, actually I found some images, but they’re only in 720 and if I upscale them to 1080, the graphic will surely become crappy.
Also, I just realized that the game will be out tomorrow as Enslaved: this means that when I’ll manage to finish the theme, it will be outdated. 🙁
Anyway, stay tuned…
