I'm new to this and i just downloaded a couple themes and followed the instructions on how to get it installed. The problem is ALL the themes i've downloaded are too big for my TV. Like when i see something i like on this site, i download it, but when i install it...the background is like zoomed in on one portion of the background, making it unable to show the whole wallpaper.
I'm using a regular SD tv 480i output..everything is fine but the wallpapers. The sample displays the ps3 shows when u hover over the theme shows the full image, but when applied its very zoomed in.
So how can i fix this?

Unfortunately it's very simple...Most themes are made by (and for) people with HDTV's. So most don't take their time to optimize their themes for SDTV's.
Some themes are optimized for SDTV's but it's only a few who mentions it in their theme descriptions. You can find a few by searching for "sdtv" in the search box.

Hi there. I too have this exact same problem but with a JVC HDTV with an HDMI cable set to 1080i (not 1080p).
I was guessing that it was a resolution problem cause i think my tv only supports 1080i and not 1080p. so i downsized the image to 1366x768 and the pic looked exactly the same. so both backgrounds pics at 1920x1080 and 1366x768 look the same on my tv. SO... i then put both pics on a usb drive and viewed them using the ps3 and, both looked the same as they did on the theme. I have a border around the picture so i need a fix.
So with that said, i double checked the video settings on my ps3, everything good. So now i give up and i register with this site.

Have you tried with different themes?
What if you change your resolution to 720p? Any difference?

Yah i even loaded up other themes and took out the bg and added mine and still no luck. Ill try 720 next after work today. ill keep you all posted.
